Science & innovation

Our science starts from nature and goes beyond it.

We keep launching new innovations based on high‑activity, high‑safety molecules.

Our principles

Regeneration, built on energy

Our regeneration does not depend on stem cells or gene therapy. We believe the critical factors for cellular regeneration are two: mitochondrial bioenergetics, whose damage begins in childhood and whose biogenesis declines once we stop growing, at around the age of 25; and lipidomics, which plays a structural role and shapes the response to every form of stress, including inflammation and oxidation.

Energy is the limiting factor

Protein markers and gene transcription are profoundly limited by the bioenergetic activity of each of the four basic tissue types and some 200 cell types in the body. Our approach starts from a different premise from today's genetic and epigenetic focus: the limiting factor is energy, which follows the laws of physics, as described by Peter Mitchell's chemiosmotic theory, together with thermodynamics and atomic chemistry.

The cell's energy engine

For nearly 40 years we have studied the mitochondrion as the basis of the body's responses to life, degenerative disease and ageing, and put that knowledge into practice in our products. The mitochondrion is the cell's energy engine: it generates cellular power by breathing oxygen and producing water. The best way to prevent oxidation is to use oxygen to produce energy; the best way to resolve inflammation is to renew the structural lipids of every cell, turning inflammation into immediate repair and cytoprotection.

Physics, energy and lipids

Physics and energy govern life. They condition DNA, evolution, adaptation, ageing and the response of every cell and tissue. The lipids of all living organisms are governed by the thermodynamics of their fatty acids within their environment, and protein function, toxicity, degeneration and protein engineering depend on these lipids.

Our vision in health

Adding years to life and life to years.

Phase 1 · Now

Adding years to life and life to years

Starting today, we are adding years to life and life to years. We apply molecules from nature, with a novel approach to safety and selective dosing, to prevent deterioration and reverse tissue damage, aiming to extend active, healthy life.

Phase 2 · In parallel

AI‑driven 5P programmes

We are developing applied artificial‑intelligence programmes built on the 5Ps: Patient (the healthy individual at the centre), Personalisation, Precision, Prevention and Prediction.

Phase 3 · Within ten years

Disruption

We aim to apply advanced therapies safely, and later to couple them with gene therapy in a parallel precision pathway.

Flagship project · Research

Creating mitochondria

Our flagship research project is the creation and synthesis of mitochondria for cellular bioenergetic management, acting on cellular energy without genetic or epigenetic regulation. It is part of our advanced‑therapy line in artificial mitochondrial engineering: synthetic or engineered organelles for cells, tissues and organs, and free mitochondria not linked to cells.

Retriacyl

A DHA‑based molecule developed over more than 20 years, designed for use by the whole population, with hundreds of potential applications. Its science was recognised with orphan designations from the EMA (2006) and the FDA (2014). Patent family WO2010118761 (inventor: José M. Cela). Retriacyl is not approved by the FDA.
